Coaching a client seeking a career change
One to One Coaching Example

An example of Philip supporting a client that was not satisfied within his current role and wanted to secure a promotion.

M stated that he would like to see himself with more strategic responsibility. Philip informed M that the average salary for his job is £25,800. M proceeded to state that he felt his salary was low. He explained that the College was a failing institution. M stated he was not happy about this. I asked M where he would like to see himself in 12 months and he replied it was to have a better salary than his current wage.  He stated this was his first objective.

Philip summed up the resources available to M including the STAR technique, YouTube and Prospects. Philip suggested M would probably be looking for a like for like role. M stated that he doesn’t currently maximise the potential within his role. Philip stated my belief that 90% of what M is doing is sensible.
